1. Who we are, and what these terms cover

AI Governance Study ("the service") is operated by Study AI Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 17348590, registered office 167-169 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 5PF). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. Contact: support@aigovernance.study.

2. What the service is (and is not)

AI Governance Study is an independent study companion for the AIGP exam: study topics, practice questions, flashcards, mock exams, and progress tracking.

AI Governance Study is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, authorised by, sponsored by, or endorsed by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). "IAPP" and "AIGP" are trademarks of the IAPP, used only to identify the exam this service helps you prepare for. Our content is independently authored and aligned to the published AIGP Body of Knowledge.

We work hard to keep content accurate and current, but the exam and the laws it covers change over time, and no exam result is guaranteed. The service is a study aid, not professional or legal advice.

3. No professional advice; no reliance

AI Governance Study is general educational material to help you prepare for the AIGP exam — a simplified study aid, not legal, regulatory, compliance, or other professional advice, and not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Do not rely on the content for anything other than your own exam preparation. In particular, do not rely on it to make legal, regulatory, compliance, business, or operational decisions. The laws, standards and frameworks it references (for example the EU AI Act, the NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001) change over time and vary by jurisdiction, and the content may be simplified, incomplete, out of date, or contain errors. We give no warranty that it is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. Obtain your own professional advice before acting in this area. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any decision made, or action taken, in reliance on the content.

4. Your account

Provide a valid email address and keep your password secure — activity under your account is your responsibility.
One account per person; accounts are personal and must not be shared or resold.
You can reset your study progress any time (Account → Reset progress), or delete your account entirely (Account → Delete account). Deleting your account ends any active access pass without a refund.

5. Free tier and access passes

Domain I study content is free with an account. Full content (Domains II–IV and the complete question bank) requires an access pass.
Access passes are one-off, fixed-term purchases (1, 3 or 12 months). They do not auto-renew, and we take no recurring payments — when a pass expires, access simply returns to the free tier and anything further is your choice. Your study progress is never deleted when a pass expires.
Purchases are processed by Paddle as merchant of record; Paddle's buyer terms also apply to the transaction. Prices are shown at checkout.
A pass is digital content supplied immediately: at checkout you expressly consent to access starting straight away and acknowledge that you thereby lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel. Refunds beyond your statutory rights are discretionary — see our Refund Policy. Your statutory rights in respect of faulty digital content are unaffected by anything in these terms.

6. Acceptable use

The service and its content are for your personal study. You must not:

copy, scrape, extract, republish, resell, or redistribute the study content, question bank, or flashcards, in whole or substantial part;
share your account or circumvent (or attempt to circumvent) content access controls;
use the service to build a competing product or dataset, including via automated tools;
interfere with the operation or security of the service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. If we terminate your account other than for breach while you hold an active pass, we will refund the unused portion.

7. Intellectual property

All study content, questions, explanations, flashcards, software, and branding are owned by Study AI Ltd or its licensors. Access to the content is licensed, not sold: you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use it for your own exam preparation while you have an account. You must not copy, share, publish, scrape, or redistribute the content, and you assume all risk and liability for any unauthorised use, copying or redistribution of it. All practice questions are independently authored to align with the publicly available AIGP Body of Knowledge. They are not reproductions of, and are not derived from, actual AIGP examination questions, which are confidential to the IAPP. Because our questions and the exam test the same published syllabus, similarity in topic, format or phrasing is inevitable; any resemblance to specific live exam questions is coincidental and unintended. If you believe an item too closely resembles a real exam question, email support@aigovernance.study and we will review and remove it promptly.

8. Availability, warranties and liability

We aim for high availability but provide the service "as is" — we don't warrant it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may update, change, or improve features at any time.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the content (including exam outcomes, regulatory or compliance decisions, lost profits, or loss of data beyond what we are obliged to protect), and our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (such as for fraud), or your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we'll give notice (email or in-app) before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms. If you don't accept them, stop using the service and — if you hold an active pass affected by the change — contact us for a pro-rata refund.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales — except that if you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections and courts of your home country.
